Breaking the Silence: Understanding the Devastating Effects of Complex Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (CPTSD) on Mental Health

As survivors of the illegal slave trade that has plagued the authentic melanin Indians, aka African Americans aka survivor children of maroons. There is a silent disease that millions are dealing with and often wrongly diagnosed as bipolar disorder but in fact it is an advanced stage of PTSD known as CPTSD.

Complex Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (CPTSD) is a psychological condition that can develop in individuals who have experienced prolonged and repeated trauma, such as abuse or neglect. Police abuse, toxic relationship, abuse amongst loved ones caused by alcohol abuse and various other effects is the primary feeding ground for CPTSD in our community.

Symptoms and solutions of CPTSD can vary from person to person, but some common symptoms include:

1. Emotional dysregulation: This refers to difficulty regulating emotions, such as feeling intensely emotional, having difficulty calming down, and experiencing mood swings.  Often mistaken for bipolar disorder.

Suggestion: It is recommended to fast and pray to remove the spirit of confusion. Sit silent and meditate for the number of days needed and ask for strength during the spiritual warfare.  Ask for clarity, wisdom and understanding.

2. Negative self-concept: This includes feelings of shame, guilt, and worthlessness, as well as a negative self-image and low self-esteem.

Suggested solution: During meditation seek for the origin of these thoughts. you will need to practice positive affirmations daily until these thoughts have left your soul. You must address these thoughts every time they come up. You will begin to notice how often you use self-sabotaging thoughts. You will begin to believe the positive affirmations over time. After all, GOD made no mistakes with you.

3. Avoidance: This refers to avoiding situations, people, or places that remind the individual of the traumatic event.

Suggestion: Journal writing helps a bunch by finding the origin of the various reasons why this is a factor. Once you learn what is needed through those experience you will evolve into a better future.

4. Hypervigilance: This involves feeling constantly on edge, anxious, and vigilant, as if danger is always present. Anxiety is signs your thoughts are in the present. Depression is signs your thoughts of the past. The past can't be changed, you can only learn from. We go through experience to grow from, grow into wisdom and understanding. Remember life is a school. Anxiety is thoughts formulating from fear and attempt to control.

Solution: Pray for clarity, wisdom and balance. Be assured life is already designed. What you control is your 2 choices in every experience. Right or wrong, Faith or Fear, good or bad, GOD or Satan, Love or hate. Either way the effect is a blessing or a lesson. either way you are winning. So no need to worry. Just journal, meditate and continue to build a friendship with our Creator

5. Relationship difficulties: Individuals with CPTSD may struggle with forming and maintaining relationships due to issues with trust, intimacy, and communication. People we attract during our experiences were attracted by the internal frequency were in at the time of meeting. Some came at a time of dependency, need from loneliness, etc. You have attracted them to learn that your dependency was to be on God and not the human. To be in a place of distrust because of those experiences means there is more to learn and your friendship with the Creator must increase.

Solution: Journal each and write your true feelings about the experience. Find a place of appreciation in each experience because it is in that appreciation your growth, closure and strength lives. Pray for strength, wisdom and understanding as it all aligns with your purpose. No longer will you live in victim mode. Upgrade the standard and build a new boundary of that peace not the pain.

6. Distorted self-perception: This includes feeling detached from oneself, feeling as if one's body or emotions are not real, and having dissociative episodes.

Solution: Contact a professional to guide you towards being centered

7. Flashbacks and intrusive memories: Individuals with CPTSD may experience vivid and distressing memories of the traumatic event, or have flashbacks that feel as if they are reliving the experience.

Solution: Work on creative outlets to help find a comfortable appreciation of the events. Paint, write poetry, music, meditate, professional guidance, prayer.

8. Chronic physical symptoms: These may include headaches, stomachaches, and other physical symptoms that have no apparent medical cause.

Solution: Fast and pray. Detox, seek medical advice or an herbalist depending on your intuitive need.

It is important to note that CPTSD can have a significant impact on an individual's daily life, relationships, and overall well-being. Seeking professional help from a mental health practitioner who is experienced in working with trauma survivors can be an important step in managing CPTSD symptoms. Solutions are suggested as there are no one size fit all for all the various experiences and stories.

This is Phase I -Healing Self

Phase II- Healing collectively

By addressing the root causes of trauma and creating systems that prioritize the well-being of all individuals is crucial for long-term healing and prevention of further harm. This requires addressing issues such as systemic oppression, inequality, poverty, violence, and discrimination that can contribute to trauma and mental health issues. It also involves providing access to affordable and quality healthcare, education, housing, and employment opportunities. By addressing the underlying causes of trauma and prioritizing the well-being of all individuals, we can create a more just and equitable society that promotes healing and prevents future harm. It requires a village.
